San Clemente Island Goats | |
|
During the 1500's Spanish goats were left on San Clemente island which is off the California coast. The descendents from those goats are a living history, showing us what goats looked like over 500 years ago. The San Clementes are a fine boned, very agile breed. There are not many of these goats in the country, and we enjoy participating in helping this wonderful breed survive. "Hope" had two San Clemente sons born Mar. 21, '02. We kept the lightest colored one and named him Badger. His sire was from a Connecticut farm. Hope had twins born Nov. 3rd, '03. We will be keeping the little girl and have named her "Marisa". To my surprise, Hope had TRIPLETS for us last Spring. We kept a little girl and named her Trina. Then this past November Hope had two sons. Hope's sire, Munson, came from Plymouth Plantation. All the goats pictured on this page have been sold. We have decided to concentrate exclusively on breeding Miniature horses. |
